| Count the serving size as the cooked portion. Q: breaking news Rodney of West Bend - I take Lipitor to lower my cholesterol. Recently I heard a nutritionist say there is no real breaking news reason I can't have one or two eggs once a week. If I didn't have high cholesterol I could have eggs daily. What is your opinion? A: Barb Troy - Hi Rodney, I agree that 1-2 eggs/week would be reasonable for you. This is not to say that because you are on Lipitor, you can consume any old breaking news thing you want whenever you want. But 1-2 eggs/week is a modest intake. FYI: The typical suggestion for people who do not have high blood cholesterol is 3-4 eggs/week. On any given "egg day" the cholesterol would be over 300 mg (as suggested as an upper limit by many health organizations), but that doesn't mean one can never go over. |
