The Director of the show supports the Spaniard. They are joined by Lapitup, who failed to stop the guardsmen. Tibul runs and jumps over a fence into a vegetable garden. He snatches up cabbage heads and hurls them at his spam pursuers, causing them great confusion. He then bends down to grab another cabbage head, but it's not a cabbage--it's the head of the Balloon Seller, who is just emerging spam from an underground tunnel, which was his means of escape from the Fat Men's palace (the tunnel began in the big pot). The Balloon Seller tells Tibul about spam his escape. Tibul pulls the Balloon Seller out of the ground, then runs off. Meanwhile, the Spaniard is distracted by one of the balloons (lost by the kitchen boys), floating overhead. He tries to shoot it, but misses and instead shoots the hat off the Director's head.
