I finished Jane Austen's "Emma" for school and to reward myself, sat on the couch and read Larry McMurty's The Last Picture Show which said that the movie is "bold and brilliant." And I just happened to miss that movie two nights ago because TCM showed it too late. Literarily, Emma was superior but I felt in the mood afterward for some pulp fiction like mind numbing 300 pages and zipped through 'Picture Show' pretty fast. |
